Recent NGF Study and other industry groups put impact of slow play in perspective

The term “slow” in “slow play” is, of course, relative. Nobody actually plays golf slowly. The truth is that golfers all play at different speeds, resulting from a variety of factors, including physical ability, course and weather conditions, skill level and general behavior and demeanor while on the golf course.

Changing Perceptions of Golf’s Affordability – Has the Supply/Demand Imbalance Lowered the Price of Golf?
 
In a recent NGF pulse-check of Core golfers, we set out to gauge perceptions of the affordability of a round and how it has changed over the past five years.  Considering the fierce competition for golfers and the high perceived impact of discounting, we were surprised to hear that most survey respondents felt golf has gotten less affordable since 2007.
