NGF recorded 14 golf course openings in the U.S. in 2013 (measured in 18-hole equivalents). Although openings are still at all-time lows, some of the courses opened are exciting additions to America’s golf course landscape.
The Golf season will get off to a better start in 2014 after a disastrous start in 2013. After a brutally cold and snowy winter across much of the U.S. this year, we look forward to Spring 2014 which will be more favorable for some and less favorable for others. While it won't be as great as the incredible golf year of 2012, it can't get any worse than 2013.
The dates and venue have been set for the 7th Annual NGF Golf Business Symposium. This year, the leadership of the golf industry will be assembling at The Union League in Philadelphia for the NGF’s invitation-only pre-season golf market intelligence briefing.
It’s pretty simple. If we don’t recruit the next generation of golfers, our game and business will contract when the baby boomers find themselves in doctors’ offices more frequently than on golf courses.
